Yes, no pics yet, so I figured I'd put this here.

As some of you know, I'm currently working on a Barbie dollhouse in Mattel Valley - so named because it used to be Sunset Valley and because Barbie and Ken are the main characters/household for me there.

I have to say, this dollhouse idea of building, where the front is "open" (I've used CC glass walls to make it look that way while the sims still feel they are all snug in their home ), is really a great way to play! Not only does it remind me of playing with my dolls in such houses, but it's just darn easy to get around with the camera. I don't need a different camera angle for the best shot of a room - it's already built to be best head on!

I have a beef, though. My Barbie had eyeshadow that had two colours - got it from some EP or SP, can't remember what that little icon means. Anyway, I changed something or other at some point - and she ended up with that stupid, fugly, horrid, abominable default zombie eyeshadow!!!!! I mean, why, EA? Why make that one the stupid default????

I changed it in CAS when I noticed. Went through every costume, re-did the makeup. Saved them as a couple and loaded them in-game.

Zombie eyeshadow.

I sent her to the mirror. I changed the eyeshadow. Did that for allllll her outfits. Next time she changes?

Zombie eyeshadow.

I mean, what the fram????? Sure, she's "Beach Barbie", and most likely her mascara would run being around all those hot tubs and pools and beaches... but come ON!

Other than that frustration, these two are a total HOOT to play! I'm half playing them in prep for IP and half attempting to finish their lot up. I fear I'm far more tempted to play them than to decorate at the moment! Ha! I'll have to post some pics in the next few days... In the meantime, if you click my simblr link below, you'll get a preview.

I figured if this was possible to do at all, you guys would know it!

What I want to do is place this 30x30 house at the front of a 38x64 lot, rather than in the middle where it goes by default. I want the house on a long lot, but I don't want it so far back from the road.

(And yes, I do know I can just put a 30x30 right next to the road, but that's not what I want. Somebody on Twitter keeps trying to "help" by insisting that I can just grab a 30x30 from the catalog and put it next to the road. Well yes, duh, but that's not what I'm trying to do, lol! )

Is this possible in game? Or is there a program like the Lot Adjuster we had in TS2 to modify already built-on lots? Or can I do something in CAW to it? Or anything else I might try short of rebuilding the damn house next to the road? lol!

Things We Like About Sims 3

Despite our issues with The Sims 3, most of us still play it, whether we spend that time watching Sims live out their lives, building homes and worlds, decorating, creating custom content, or whatever! There must be a few reasons why we still boot up our games, right? This thread is for listing those reasons! But it'll be a team effort, because we're going to build this list one thing at a time. (I borrowed this idea from ani, who did something similar on her old blog.)

A few guidelines:

List one thing per post, and try to be as specific as you can. (For example, instead of saying "Music", say which radio station or songs you like.)

The things you like don't have to be new things that weren't in Sims 1 or Sims 2. They can just be anything you like about the game. This includes all EPs, SPs, and even store stuff.

A picture to go along with your post is welcomed, but not necessary.

Number your item, if you would, just to satisfy my slight OCD-ness when it comes to lists!

I'll start:

1. Bicycles

I take them for granted now, but I remember how excited I was that the Sims 3 had bicycles! I just love them. I think my Sims own more bicycles than they do cars. Or if they don't, they should. I enjoy watching my Sims pedal around town.

Your Sims 4 Wish List

So now that it's official, and The Sims 4 is on the horizon, what are your hopes and dreams for this next iteration of our beloved game? If you could sit down with a Sims 4 producer for an hour, what would you tell them about your expectations for the game? Which things are absolute MUST-HAVES ("If the game doesn't have this, I won't buy it!") and which things are just "This would be awesome, but if they don't have it, it's not a dealbreaker"?

Speak your mind here!

I'll start off with some things that I would like:

- An in-game world editor, or at the very least, a world editor that we have FROM THE START, that is fairly flexible and easy-to-use

- The ability to create a "region" of towns like in Sim City 4 and have our Sims travel easily from town to town or world to world

- Sims actually open their car doors! Plus I kind of miss the car make-out sessions, what can I say. ;p

- Some kind of public transportation like buses, trains, etc.

- More options for roof-shapes!!! Better roof-seams. And the ability to recolor roofs in-game.

- The ability to place a lot of any size within the world in-game, without things glitching or going nuts or making lot/road tears

- A more realistic/in-depth relationship system: attraction, chemistry, crushes, unrequited love, etc. I want some one-sided relationships! And make it less easy for Sims to fall in love.

Those are just a few, and I'm sure I'll think of more that are more important to me, but that's a start.

How about you guys?

In an official email sent out to select fansites worldwide, EA states they will be setting up a conference call with all invitees to “hear directly from one of the developers about the exciting piece of news!”.
EA has also stated that after this conference call, all invitees “will receive a brand new image to accompany this special occasion”, which they will be getting “approximately three hours before the rest of the world”.
Mass emails? Approval for fansites to hype up the event? Big announcement? Conference calls? Special occasion? What could it possibly be!?

This feels quite bad, actually. After buying my first simpoints in order to buy the chickens coop from the in game store option, I've been checking all day(s) long to keep an eye on the daily deals to spend my extra points. I already bought a few items.

Learning that when popular items sell out quickly (minutes) others are on daily deal sale for a couple hours, there isn't even a steady rhythm, allowing me to relax in between the releases.

I simply need to follow the deals closely. Of course I'm waiting for a specific set too, and at work today I even stayed logged on, in case the set would be ripped away within seconds and not giving me enough time to log in...

Right now I'm rather satisfied that they released a deal that doesn't seem extremely popular, it might give me a break long enough to cook me some dinner. I'm starving.

Not just for food, but also for deals, of course
We downloaded someone else's whole Sims folder ( ) and save game and we played each other's games. Now this seems somewhat drastic, I just thought that were it to ever be abled to work it would be cool. I sure as hell don't see it happening soon, but the idea was just too crazy not to share!

I've run into a slight dilemma here and I'm thinking my buddies at TSD can give me a hand

I'm trying to come up with names for streets and districts within Missy Valley. The town's far from done, it only has around 6 houses and a few more community lots, but I'm wanting to start trying to develop the districts and streets and give them names. So, I'm wondering how you guys manage it with your towns. What gives you the inspiration for a name for a district? Do you just go by the lots you have in that area, or do you run with a theme? Or do you use a random generator and throw together a bunch of words and see what ticks?

The other thing I truly suck at is coming up with decent names for houses. There's only so many times I can add Manor, House or Cottage to a housename, after all So where do you guys seek your inspiration for house names?

Can't think of a better title sorry

When you decided to play a whole world with only your sims, what exactly did you do? Did you emptied the world from all sims? Did you added your sims to the existing families and then deleted them as you progressed? Did you only started with YA singles or did you created whole families directly from CAS?

What about personalities, did you decide them beforehand or do you let the sims decide? When you started playing, did you added sims all at once or like one family a week? What do you think is best to play a whole world: ts2 aging, aging on or aging off? And which settings lets you not miss on their life too much? Long or epic or more? And when your sims are settle down and make kids, how do you "incorporate" them in the rotation if you moved them out? Do you like adding sims via CAS after or do you feel like their family trees would be off?

Do you play all your sims as separated "legacies" or not? What's the best aspect for you to play in rotation? Is it making huge parties with all your sims? Or the genetic aspect?

God I'm sorry, I am a total noob gameplay wise. I feel like I don't know how to play anymore I have these bad habit from ts2, micro manage and perfectionnism on their aspect. There's the option to Set Layout and then there are three options to pick from:
Layout 1
Layout 2
Orientation Layout

Obviously, this is the marker they used for the Meet and Greet in the Uni world.
I have a huge obsession with Agnes Crumplebottom and Connor Frio. It's bordering on scary haha! They are in practically every world I have played in different forms. I have taken so many photos of them and watched them grow old together more than once. I'm actually playing Agnes yet again in an other story line!
And there's Ethan and Ingrid. Again they've appeared in a good few world and I love playing them! Ethan is my baby. He's probably my favourite sim out of any sim that I've ever created.

To kick things off, SimGuruTaterTot posted a sneak preview of the store content to be released this Thursday, March 21st (tomorrow, in fact!):

Looks like a new wedding/formal set? I'm intrigued by the fence and columns (purdy!), plus the new hairs and dresses are lovely. I'm interested to see if there will be any premium content involved or if it will just be a CAS/deco/build set.
Looks like a new wedding/formal set? I'm intrigued by the fence and columns (purdy!), plus the new hairs and dresses are lovely. I'm interested to see if there will be any premium content involved or if it will just be a CAS/deco/build set.
